The original date of the construction is unknown but it is thought to have been around 100 BC shortly after the establishment of the State of Anatolia in 133 BC. It was modified during the Roman period and would originally have had a great façade in front of the amphitheatre and stage. It can seat 25,000 people and is still used for pop concerts today.
