Sunday 20th January 2013 0GMT: Banjul ­ The Gambia ­ A Joyous Send-off

After lunch we were entertained to another exuberant performance of folk dancing with each performer doing their high stepping routine for about 30 seconds – it must have been exhausting.   Of course the inevitable invitation to participate came which I declined I’m sorry to say since the drumming was very compulsive but does give you a headache after a while!!

It was back on the trucks running the ‘two bob’ gauntlet of enthusiastic children for the trip back to our waiting ship after a fascinating and rewarding first insight into Africa.
