Sunday 20th January 2013 0GMT: Banjul The Gambia Lunch with the Baboons!

Disembarkation proved an even rockier and terrifying affair but once assure we made for the camp and a most enjoyable lunch of ‘Lady Fish’ – all I can say is she must have had her corsets on since the flesh was very bony but a delightful flavour, accompanied by mashed potatoes, ochre, yam, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and scotch bonnet chillies and fried or boiled rice with sweet peanut sauce. Despite being warned that the chillies were hot to taste one idiot ate one in a mouthful and exploded into a fit of coughing and tears!!

Dessert was a banana and some fruit juice all washed down with the local Gambian beer.

The Baboons were around but did not make a nuisance of themselves, preferring to explore what was left when the tables were vacated.
