Well I’m still struggling to catch-up and have just uploaded a couple of postings for Port Elizabeth and I hope to add some more after this on Durban. You will see that we are now 5.5hours ahead of GMT and such is the rhythm of the days at sea that losing an hour at 2.00pm catches you unawares. In the meantime we have called at Reunion, Mauritius and yesterday Male – the capital of the Maldives.
I lost most of the day yesterday since having walked for two-and-a half hours in 31 C and 98% humidity – well a 100% really since it rained as well and despite drinking I did suffer from dehydration that completely pole axed me and other table guests. After a sleepy afternoon and slowly taking on water and potassium via a banana and with a reviving Magners Pear in the evening I am back to normal. A good lesson learnt for my adventure off the ship that commences at 8.00am tomorrow morning to the Taj Mahal, although I noticed that it was 3C cooler in Mumbai than Male.
No doubt there will be lots to tell you when I gat back on Friday but we have a few days at sea en route to Bahrain.
Tomorrow we are half-way in terms of nights aboard but the next few days and the last sector promise to be equally as exciting as the first.
