None of this sitting on the roof or hanging from the side of the train for us! A 4.15am wake up call and a continental breakfast over we set off for the station at 5.45am!! It was dark, very noisy and smelly when we got off the bus but luckily it was only a short walk to the platform that was not as crowded as I had expected until the Shatabdi Express drew in bang on time and then a multitude of people seemed to appear out of every nook and cranny!!
We all had reserved seats but it was still a scrum getting on the train. In addition to the many tourists heading for Aggra like me there were many Indians heading to Bhopal – the city infamous for the leakage of gas – where the train terminates. The seats were by no means luxurious but comfortable enough and we settled back for the two-and-a-half trip to Aggra.
Photo is actually departing the train at Aggra – Dorrinder our Guide leading the way.
