Our last stop before making for the airport was to the Chinese Fishing Nets along the beach that have become a unique and still used symbol of the centuries of Chinese influence along this coast. I had seen many such nets on the Yangtze last year but never in operation. Mind you todays catches seemed to consist of more plastic than fish although the fish market along the beach was well stocked – with fish not plastic bags!!
