Monday 4th February 2013 +2hrs GMT Mossel Bay South Africa Botlierskop Private Game Reserve - A Real Rarity Black Impala

These Black Impala are not to be confused with Black Faced Impala.  The black coat occurs naturally due to a recessive gene but it requires 4 generations to achieve this unique colouring.  The heard at Botlierskop currently numbers 26 and is the contribution of the game reserve to conservation.  These animals are so rare that a breeding male or female is worth 250,000 Rand (About £20,000).
