The contrasts between Abu Dhabi and Dubai are stunning. Both cities have the desire to have the biggest and best of almost everything but Abu Dhabi has the edge on space and elegance in my opinion. Although there are many high-rise buildings they are not yet crammed together – they may well become that way although I believe not because the roads and infrastructure have been designed to ensure a feeling of spaciousness and to show the clusters of skyscrapers in dramatic elegance (See photo – this cluster is opposite the Emirates Palace Hotel).
Yet Abu Dhabi already has its tourist attractions such as the Yas Marina racing circuit of Fi fame set on an island of over 30,000 acres and comprising 4 theme parks (Including the Ferrari World Theme Park), two water parks, 23 themed hotel resorts, a camping ground, two spas and fitness centres and five gulf courses. Although I didn’t visit this area in depth even from a distance it looked more refined and less ‘in your face’ then Dubai.
