Wednesday 27th February 2013 +4.0 hrs GMT: Dubai, United Arab Emirates The Burj el Arab Hotel High Tea in the Sky at Prices to Match

Photos taken we sat down to enjoy the tea set out before is (See photo). Compared with the High Tea I had at in Abu Dhabi at the Emirates Palace Hotel tow days later the tea here was something of a disappointment. The sandwiches and cakes all looked fine but tended to be ‘something and nothing’ in terms of flavours and showcasing patisserie skills.   No named tea either for all we knew it could have been PG Tips.  The scones were OK but the waiters insisted on smearing raspberry and passion fruit (Which was delicious) jam and cream on your side plate making it a very messy operation in terms of transferring it to one’s scone!  The final blow was the price – it was £30 more expensive – although this included the cover charge for entering the hotel - for this tea than at the Emirates Palace and no gold flake on the cakes either!

I admit that the tea was enjoyed at the time but in retrospect it was a disappointment for me at least.
