Since my last posting I have been to the Rose Coloured City of Petra (Jordan), the Valley of the Kings and Temple at Luxor (Egypt) and St Catherine’s Monastery below Mt Sinai where Moses is said to have communed with God and collected the 10 Commandments. All very interesting but requiring over 20 hours sitting in a bus travelling too-and-from these destinations, a lot of walking and some memorable lunches – bread and butter pudding made with camel’s milk, lunch on a Felucca on the Nile (Unforgettable!) and yesterday in a monastery.
Needless to say I’m days behind with the Blog and will only have two hours today before we set sail for Alexandria via the Suez Canal which we will transit some time tomorrow.
We are at last free of the threat of pirates so the razor wire and our armed escorts have departed. I gather you are having another spell of cold weather with plenty of snow in Kent well all I can say is its 30 C plus here!
