It is just coming up to 2.00pm and we have a day at sea en route to Valetta Malta. The ship over the last hour has taken on a distinct roll as the Captain has increased our speed to 19 knots in an attempt to get into Valetta harbour by 2.00am tomorrow morning to avoid the worst of a gale which is developing to the North East. At the moment we have a following wind that is pushing us along but adding to the roll. The weather forecast for Valetta tomorrow is a high of 14 degrees C – so out with the woollies but sunny. I’m not planning to go ashore since I have been at least 3 times before and I want to continue to try to catch up with the Blog.
You will have seen that I have now finished the Middle Eastern part of this voyage but still have Petra, Luxor and the Pyramids to write up. Plus I knocked off another Wonder of the World with a visit to the Acropolis yesterday!
A good visit in bright sunshine but a sharp wind yesterday and some poor lady fell and broke her leg on the way down from the Acropolis. I haven’t heard anything more so presumably she is in hospital in Athens.
