The highlight of the tour this afternoon was to be High Tea at the Burj El Arab (See photo) described in the Cruise Brochure as one “of the world’s most popular and exclusive hotels and a landmark”. This luxury, 7* hotel is built on a man made island in the shape of a sail.
The inside of the hotel foyer is stunning, if just a little glitzy with escalators ascending either side of a central water feature with aquariums forming the walls. You finally emerge into an enormous upper foyer with an atrium in gold, blue and white towering above you.
