This photo is of the Diwan-I-Khas, the “Hall of the private and dignified Audience’. Shah Jahan built it in white marble in 1637. The pillars and arches of this building are inlaid with semi-precious stones set in the shape of coloured flowers. It is said that the same craftsmen constructed this building as the Taj Mahal and is where Royal Durbars or meetings were held and where the Emperor consulted with the Ministers and Ambassadors of his court.
