Just to let you know that I am well but very tired after five consecutive days in port and of activity. So since my last posting I have had a ride in a hot-air balloon – a first for me – eaten two high teas one in an 8 star hotel that uses gold flake to decorate its cakes and travelled over 500 miles yesterday to enjoy some fine ‘dune bashing’ (Riding in 4x4) at the Wahabi Sands to the South of Muscat – another first for me and most enjoyable.
I’m must admit to be very tired today and I only have a day at sea before reaching Salalah but thereafter I have five days at sea arriving in Aqaba – for Petra – a week today. I’m also taking the opportunity to do some washing which necessitates long walks to the stern of the ship and a gentle fight with the ladies who seem to spend their life in the guest laundrette to get a machine and then checking to see if the cycle has finished. Good exercise!!
I will, however, try to begin regular postings later today or tomorrow.
